Melody is my Toy Yorkie with a personality bigger than most people i know. She is a handful right now but so much fun! What a learning experience this is but it is all worth it.

She is a city dog for sure and is getting to know the performing arts world rather quickly. Here are a few pictures for now. More to come later!
Everyone!! Welcome Meldoy.....

She is simply the best! Shes learning how to sing as we speak! lol ; ) Talk to you soon!

Pop Goes Broadway

From May 4th through the 24th I had quite an inspirational, memorable, exciting month! Deborah Gibson's Pop Goes Broadway at Harrahs in Atlantic City was AMAZING! With only 5 days of rehearsals here in NYC, the show turned out to be more than a great success!!!!! Our reviews were stellar! Deborah herself was quite an amazing, full of energy, non-stop performer! Myself and the other four talented back-up singer/dancers were called "TOP NOTCH" We couldn't have asked for a better review!

Everyone is trying to get the show back up and running. Possibly doing another run in the fall, and then onward to VEGAS! If you missed the show, be sure to catch it again in the near future! I know it will happen and I will post when and where!

The cast, the crew, my family and friends who visited were all so wonderful! Visit my myspace profile to see most of the photos from the shows run! www.myspace.com/devonmarie4eva

Eddie, Melissa, Jasond and Buddy.....thank you for making me feel like a true dancer! You guys are incredible!

Thank you again Deb for placing me in your fabulous show and believing in my hard work and dedication! You were and still are a huge idol of mine!

I couldn't have asked for a better month! Heres to the future of "Pop Goes Broadway"

Going Rock

Ive always known deep down who I was and what I wanted to do. Of course singing and performing for an audience. But Ive always had trouble about which direction I should take, expressing myself and what I was all about. Now thanks to Diane Gibson and Jeff Kent I am now in the process of "coming out of my shell."

I love all styles of music! Please don't get me wrong, but with my look and vocal style, rock is definitely the way to go. Ive always LOVED singing that genre. Songs from Heart, Evanecense, Journey, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith are only a few of my original influences. It felt good finally walking into a studio and having that type of music presented to me. Somebody FINALLY understood who I was and what I wanted to be. Just finding that right path is always a struggle. I just needed a little push to come to a realization. That somebody is Jeff Kent! He has done plenty of Rock pieces that have that "mysterious" sound that I love. You can hear his style with European bands like House of Lords and the artists Robin Beck. They were all big hits in the 80s and 90s.

Again please don't get me wrong, I love r&b, Pop, and hip hop music! I love when Rock and any of those genres intertwine, but I LOVED walking into a music studio without hearing r&b beats. Finally a producer who knew who I was! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

On my myspace page is a small collection of the r&b music I got pushed into recording. I pushed myself because the music and the studios were available for me 100%. I was younger and not sure if there was anywhere else to go. I grabbed it while I had the chance. It was a great experience and Ill take it with me forever. I still thank all the producers for that opportunity. It was great writing with you.

The basis of this blog is to let everyone know that I am in the process of doing a brand new Rock album. I am so excited to write with Jeff and his co-producers. I know this genre will finally show my voice off the way Ive always wanted. Plus my dark style of writing will come much better into play! There will be hints of Pop and Hip Hop here and there! Trust me it's going to be fantastic! I can't wait for everyone to hear! STAY TUNED.......................

Rock ON!!!!! Always and Forever,

Devon Marie

Epic Records, Reality Television, Spotlight Live!....oh and Legally Blond!

Well, well, well.......crazy week! One day I was on stage with the Legally Blonde cast on broadway, teaching a hundred kids the bend and snap dance! They were amazing people and so much fun to perform with. Just in case if your wondering......Spotlight Live hosted "kids night on broadway." We are doing the same thing next week with people from Hairspray! So excited!

The night after that was the "Spotlight to Stardom" Finals. I have to say, all the contestents were fantastic, but there's no way they could perform like my spotlight crew! There was a round that the finalists had to battle the "spotlight superstars." Now remember, we are the ones NOT winning the record deal, so not only were we just a bit bitter, but ready to kick a little ass as well! haha! Go to this url below to see a little snip of my battle. I took it easy on this finalist because I really wanted him to have a shot at this contest. He was the most humble finalist there! Great job Sebastien!

Now if you want to see a TRUE battle, check out my boy John Wellington sing with this finalist! HAHA! We felt soooooo bad for this guy! John ripped him a new one! Below is a little clip if you wanna check it out...

To see more of the finals, go to http://www.ziddio.com/ to see all the craziness that happened on that stage and of course to see our winner, Craig. He truly deserved it!!!!!!! Congrats to you!
My next topic soon to come: REALTY SHOW AT SPOTLIGHT LIVE! This all happened the same night! Smart move for owner Jennifer Worthington! I dont want to Jinx anything so I am not going to go into full detail at this moment. All I need to explain is that the sony represetatives that were there LOVED us! (meaning the performers) I was talking to one of the guys and he really seemed intrigued by the whole performing job and our personalities at spotlight. Trust me it would be an excellent realty show! Alot to work with! haha!
Rumor has it that Sony pictures are coming back to watch us in the next couple of weeks! What a great night night! I hope this all works out for us! We are all too damn talented! Come see for yourself. Spotlight Live..... Times Square.... Broadway.... between 48th and 49th....
to be continued...........................................................................
below: the ladies of spotlight left to right: Jam, Erin, Robin, Devon, Daisy, Lexi.... MWA!

My new Manager!

Hey everyone! This is short and sweet. I FINALLY became a part of GMI entertainment! I am a new client of Diane Gibson! (The sweet-hearted mother of Deborah Gibson)

So far, so good! We are taking it step by step with my career and I will post more as time comes. I am so excited and in the greatest of hopes that amazing things will happen with Diane and I. She is WONDERFUL! Like we stated the other day at lunch, "Female artists should have Female Managers" It just makes more sense. We understand each other more and have great respect for one another. It was meant to be how we ran into each other and I can't wait to see the future and the experience traveling into it. It's already exciting!

Ill be writing more very soon! Stay tuned!

Epic Records and Spotlight Live

During the past couple of months I have had the honor of judging our Epic Records contest at Spotlight Live in Times square! For those of you who have not heard of this venue.... www.spotlightlive.com
(the judges table: Seth from Epic, Daisy, and Devon Marie)
Epic and Spotlight signed a deal together saying they would give away four record deals in 2008. WOW!!!!! Being one of the background singer/dancers there, somehow I got all up in the mix of things and ended up judging the contestants along side of Epic. This past week our last finalist was chosen. I must say that this competition is going to be fierce! To see live footage of the weekly competition, go to www.ziddio.com
The finals are going to be held February 7th at spotlight. (49th and Broadway) So come on by if you want to watch a REAL competition go down.

Now just to answer most people's question, "No I can't enter the contest being that I work at Spotlight."

It really does suck working along side the music industry every day, blowing my vocal chords away for 7 hours straight, and losing about a pound a night in sweat!!! (that ain't so bad)

Believe me, the other performers and I always wonder, "Are any of these A&R reps looking at us????"

Whatever the case, it made me a better judge because I was looking for the whole package. I definitely played the "Simon" in the group at times. I'm looking forward to seeing which one of my finalist will take home the grand prize on February the 7Th! (contract with Epic) They all deserve it and best of luck to them all!!!!
