Being one of the background singer/dancers there, somehow I got all up in the mix of things and ended up judging the contestants along side of Epic. This past week our last finalist was chosen. The finals are going to be held February 7th at spotlight. (49th and Broadway) So come on by if you want to watch a REAL competition go down.
Now just to answer most people's question, "No I can't enter the contest being that I work at Spotlight."
It really does suck working along side the music industry every day, blowing my vocal chords away for 7 hours straight, and losing about a pound a night in sweat!!! (that ain't so bad)
Believe me, the other performers and I always wonder, "Are any of these A&R reps looking at us????"
Whatever the case, it made me a better judge because I was looking for the whole package. I definitely played the "Simon" in the group at times. I'm looking forward to seeing which one of my finalist will take home the grand prize on February the 7Th! (contract with Epic) They all deserve it and best of luck to them all!!!!
